Plesk Extended Lifecycle Support Fees

If you’re using CentOS 7, CloudLinux 7, Ubuntu 18.04, or Debian 10, it’s time to consider upgrading as these operating systems have reached their End-of-Life (EOL) status according to their respective vendors. Reaching EOL means these systems no longer receive security updates, leaving them more exposed to potential security risks:

  • CentOS 7 – EOL on June 30, 2024
  • CloudLinux 7 – EOL on June 30, 2024
  • Ubuntu 18.04 – EOL in May 2023
  • Debian 10 – EOL on June 30, 2024

Extended Lifecycle Support (ELS) by Plesk

To give users more time to migrate to newer OS versions, Plesk has introduced an Extended Lifecycle Support (ELS) program. Partnering with TuxCare, Plesk will continue to offer critical security patches for these systems beyond their official EOL dates. This support includes essential security updates and technical assistance for Plesk users on these older OS versions. Keep in mind, however, that this initiative is specific to Plesk and not a service offered by EuroVPS.

For more details, check out Plesk’s official ELS announcements.

Plesk ELS Fees

These fees are charged by Plesk, and we will directly pass these costs to users who choose to continue with these outdated OS versions.

Your Options Going Forward

  1. Upgrade Your OS: We highly recommend updating to the latest supported OS version. This is the best way to ensure ongoing security and stability. We are here to assist with the migration process and can provide the same hosting plan without any additional charges for the OS update.
  2. Pay the Extended Lifecycle Support Fee: If you choose to keep using an outdated OS, the ELS fee will apply based on Plesk’s pricing. We will pass this fee directly to you, as Plesk charges us for maintaining support on these older systems.

Final Note

We want to be clear that we do not plan to cover the costs associated with outdated software support, and we also don’t want you to spend unnecessarily. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to consider upgrading to ensure the ongoing stability and security of your server environment.

We will issue an invoice covering the period from August for the use of the outdated OS, as we have already paid for the necessary support to keep your license active. Unfortunately, there were no other options available to maintain your license.

Thank you for your understanding, and feel free to reach out with questions or to begin the upgrade process.
